Nhon: A Bus In Woolwich On May Twenty-Fourth, Two Thousand And NineAssignment: Night ShotLocation: Woolwich, London, EnglandShutter: 1/40sAperture: f/4.0
I’m fascinated by how objects can become circular lights when out of focus to the viewer. Since we deal in our everyday lives with objects and where they touch one another, I forget sometimes that it is light that brings us the gift of knowing what things are like. Light is the medium that builds our visual concepts. It is like air for lungs, filling the space between hard objects and lending to us, by its natural properties, a special way of knowing.
You can make out the four red dots that form the vague outline of a bus. There is a green light that tells it to go. There are street lights hanging above them. A mysterious blue light to the left who’s real identity is now forgotten.
